cw is published by Spicerack Incorporated. These are the terms you take on by using cw.pub, and they are short because cw asks very little of you.
Who publishes cw
Spicerack Incorporated publishes the cw Mac app, runs cw.pub, and holds the copyright in the software. The company can be written to at abuse@cw.pub.
Your account
An account on cw.pub is yours to look after, and what is published from it is yours to answer for. Signing in is through Apple; cw.pub is never given a password of yours.
Your puzzles stay yours
A puzzle you construct is yours. Its Copyright: line names you, not the company — cw has never had a default for that line and does not acquire one because you published here.
Publishing on cw.pub grants Spicerack Incorporated exactly what hosting takes: to store the puzzle and to serve it to whoever the tier you chose allows. It grants nothing else, and it ends when the puzzle stops being published.
The software's copyright is the company's
The cw application and cw.pub are Spicerack Incorporated's. What you have is permission to use them. Your library and everything in it are not part of that, and never were.
cw works without cw.pub
cw is offline-first. Your library is a database on your own disk, every puzzle exports to plain text you keep, and the app goes on working with the network off and if this service stops existing.
That is a design decision, and it is also the honest measure of what these terms can cost you.
Hosting is at the publisher's discretion
Spicerack Incorporated decides what cw.pub hosts. It can stop hosting a puzzle, and it can end an account's use of the service, at its own discretion, at any time, and without giving a reason.
There is no formal procedure behind that sentence and this page does not describe one. What you keep is what you always had: your library, on your Mac.
No warranty
cw and cw.pub are provided as they are, with no warranty of any kind. So far as the law allows, Spicerack Incorporated is not liable for loss or damage arising out of your use of either. Keep your own backups — the app is built so that you can.
These terms can change
The version on this page is the current one. Going on using cw.pub after it changes is how the change is accepted.
